I enjoyed your recent article about dog owners; however, you,like many, have fallen into the trap of categorizing dobermans as mean dogs.If you look at the statistics on dog bites, dobermans are not even in the top ten. I would trust my doberman with strangers, children, etc. over my golden retriever or chihuahua any day. Many people I talk to who either own dobermans or have been around them, also mention this myth. The recently popular film, "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" also portrayed dobermans as vicious. Wouldn't it be nice to have a film "Beverly Hills Doberman" where the bad guy dog was a little chihuahua biting at the ankles? This would be a more appropriate representation of the real world! I appreciate the apology in your article to us doberman owners, but I want to let you know that it is a myth that dobermans are mean dogs.
